Black and White Challenge – Day 2

For the second day of the black and white challenge, this is a photo from my recent trip to France at Oradour-sur-Glane.  Because nearly 700 people had been massacred there by the Nazis on June 10, 1944, black and white helped to represent the sadness I felt being there.  This is what was left of the town square.

Terry, you might like the novel All the Light We Can Not See by Anthony Doer.
Likewise, cities were destroyed in this novel but also many lives. It was an
interesting but sad book. Your picture reminds me of the story as it too was set
    in France.
